This blog entry has nothing to do with email -- instead it is about the results of the recent U.S. presidential election.
I read a fascinating article about how maps distort our view of the election results. If you look at the traditional map, Montana looms large -- even though it has a mere 3 electoral votes. Yet, states like Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey are barely visible. The map to the left shows how the election results would look if the map was altered to represent the population. It shows that the population-adjusted state map for Obama was much larger than that for McCain.
