Another great meeting of the Web Innovators Group in Cambridge, MA last night. The crowds have grown dramatically over the past few years. Tonight, a standing room crowd of more than 500 people watched companies pitch their wares.
The winner of the audience vote was Local Motors, which uses social networking to design automobiles much faster than the Big 3 can. These cars can be customized to various local environment. Nice.
My friends at Crimson Hexagoncame in third. They have software for enterprises that scans blogs to measure the overall sentiment of the blogosphere.
What excites me the most is seeing the number of young entrepreneurs in attendance. Most Boston events seem to attract the over 30 crowd. This event was filled with 20-somethings and 30-somethings trying to get a business going. It was great to see.
